A person died on Wednesday night in Badalona after being trapped in his home. The Generalitat Bombers received notice of the start of the fire minutes before nine o’clock at night in a building on Guifré street in the Catalan city. Seven crews traveled to the place, but upon arrival it was found that the fire affected the property on the second floor of a duplex in a three-story block.
Inside the building was the victim, a person with reduced mobility. From the outside, the troops began an offensive attack with water to try to access the interior to begin the search and extinction tasks. When controlling the fire, around 9:30 p.m., they found the victim on the upper floor of a duplex. The building had been badly affected by smoke.
Four patrols from the Mossos d’Esquadra, members of the Local Police and four ambulances from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) also traveled to the place. The causes of the origin of the fire are still unknown.
