The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador confirmed this Sunday that 82.26% of voters registered for the presidential and legislative elections this Sunday came to exercise that right, which represents an abstention of 17.74%, according to Efe agency.

The president of the CNE, Diana Atamaint, in a press conference after the closure of the polling stations, and after remarking that “not a single incident” occurred during voting day, insisted that the influx of voters to the polling stations elections in the national territory “has remained in the historical range”.

Atamaint assured that the electoral results will begin to flow two and a half hours after the closing of the polling stations.
