Early morning tragedy at a campsite in Montblanc (Conca de Barberà). An eight-year-old girl died tonight when, for reasons that the Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating, the bungalow where she was staying caught fire. The rest of the occupants of the bunglaow, who were sleeping at that time, have been able to get out on their own.
The Generalitat Fire Brigade received the notice of the fire at 04:55 in the morning, warning of a fire inside the Montblanc campsite. Five crews have quickly moved to the place of the fire and a total of 15 troops have worked. When the Firefighters have arrived at the campsite they have found the bungalow burning very virulently, with a high load of fire.
All the occupants of the campsite had left but a girl, only eight years old, was missing. At six in the morning, when they have been able to access the interior of the bungalow, the Firefighters have found the body of the lifeless minor.
The fire has completely burned his bungalow, has partially affected a second bungalow and also a vehicle parked next to the tourist accommodation.
The Emergency Medical Service (SEM) has activated three ambulances, in addition to psychological support for the family. On behalf of the Mossos d’Esquadra corps, which have begun the investigation to clarify the causes of the fire, six patrols have been sent to the fire. The GEM (Medical Emergency Group) of the Generalitat Fire Department has also activated psychological support for professionals who have worked in the service.
