The National Police have arrested three young people, two of them minors, for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing another 18-year-old boy five times and hitting another 18-year-old boy in the head with a stone in the Madrid district of Puente de Vallecas.
As police sources have informed Efe, the investigation of the events has been undertaken by the Provincial Information Brigade given the possibility that the brawl was motivated by a confrontation between youth gangs, although they do not rule out other hypotheses.
Those arrested are three men aged 20, 16 and 15, all of them Spanish nationals.
The attack took place around 11:30 p.m. yesterday, Monday, on Sierra del Valle Street, in front of the Juan José García Espartero Park.
The agents alerted by a brawl in which several young people were participating went there and upon their arrival they found the victim with five stab wounds, three of them in both thighs and two in the back at the lumbar level.
Furthermore, when the victim – also Spanish – was on the ground, the alleged attackers hit him on the head with a stone, according to the same sources.
The police applied a tourniquet to his right leg and began resuscitation maneuvers, since he was in cardiorespiratory arrest, Emergencies Madrid said.
Samur-Civil Protection paramedics continued with the maneuvers and managed to reverse the stop, after which they transferred him in very serious condition to the 12 de Octubre Hospital escorted by the Madrid Municipal Police.
