The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a 29-year-old man in an operation in which they have dismantled one of the largest macro-plantations of marijuana located so far in the Pyrenean regions, hidden in a wooded area of ??Coll de Nargó (Lleida) with 4,394 floors.
As reported today by the regional police, the macro-plantation, hidden in a forest, was so large that an area had been set up a few meters away to dry marijuana, a camp for the guards to spend the night, and the course of a stream had been diverted to fill two rafts to water the plants.
The Mossos opened the investigation last May, given the indications of the existence of this large-scale crop, in which they finally found 4,394 marijuana plants in different stages of growth yesterday.
In addition, they verified that the course of a stream had been modified to supply water, since it was stored in two rafts to guarantee permanent irrigation.
The Mossos located a hundred meters from the plantation a camp where the people who cared for and watched over the plants lived, with a sleeping area and a kitchen area, and yesterday they arrested one of those responsible, who will go to court tomorrow in La Seu d’Urgell (Lleida).
In addition, about 200 meters away was an area that he used to dry the plants, where 12 kilos of marijuana buds were intervened.
The Mossos keep the investigation open, in a case in which they do not rule out further arrests.
