Do you want to give your decoration a futuristic and innovative air? Panels with a 3D effect are therefore a powerful resource for covering the walls of your home. Rough, polyhedral, asymmetric or rectilinear, there are many alternatives to give a room a radical change, or place them in a strategic place to create contrasts in the same room.

These decorative elements unknown to many a priori require a clean, quick and easy installation. Next, we explain everything you should take into account when placing a 3D panel.

The first thing you should do before getting down to work is to gather all the necessary materials for the installation of your new 3D decorative panels:

With all this, you are ready to start installing the panels step by step.

It is convenient to open the panels and let them acclimatize for about 48 hours to the temperature and humidity conditions of the room where you are going to place them.

Clean the dirt from the chosen wall and make sure it is completely smooth and dry to achieve a good adhesion of the 3D panels. On the other hand, you should protect the floors and the rest of the surfaces —countertops, chests of drawers, etc— with paper or a canvas-type plastic to prevent them from staining with glue. As far as possible, separate and cover all those objects such as tables or electrical appliances that may bother you when proceeding with the installation.

Measure and mark the guide lines with the help of a level and a meter, according to the dimensions of the panels. This is the most important step: make sure that the holes for the different pieces are aligned to place them correctly.

On the back of the panel, apply adhesive glue on the four sides and, furthermore, another two vertical lines in its central part to achieve a better hold on the surface.

Next, lay the panels from the corners to the inside of the wall. As you set them down, press down on the edges with your fingertips. To get a better finish, use tile spacers in the joints between panel and panel. When you have them all in place and the glue has dried, carefully remove them.

After installing each panel, clean the joints with paper to remove impurities and place a specific strip of tape over them to fill them.

Most of the 3D decorative panels available on the market are white and uniform, but why not take a chance, for example, with a two-tone design? If you want to give it your original touch, use a brush or a spray gun to paint them the color you like best. After 24 hours, you can give it a second hand.
