Everyone knows the great interest that Spanish Radio Television has in hiring the comedian, comedian and television presenter David Broncano. The public entity is trying to buy the interview format that it currently presents on Movistar Plus, La Resistencia, to have a chance to win in the prime time access time slot. However, negotiations are not being easy.
The signing of the presenter was going to be decided at the last meeting of the RTVE Board of Directors, but the meeting took another direction and led to the dismissal of the interim president, Elena Sánchez, and the director of general content, José Pablo López. Concepción Cascajosa was later named as the new interim president.
On April 4, the Council will meet again with the aim of finding an answer to the mystery of Broncano’s signing for Spanish Television, something that has the interviewer’s fans very nervous.
From the ABC newspaper, Emilio V. Escudero has exclusively published that the public audiovisual organization is preparing an exclusive contract for this project in which there are very generous clauses.
We would be talking about about 14,076,135.31 euros plus VAT cost for each season, about 87,975.85 euros (plus VAT) for each episode if we take into account that approximately 160 episodes will be broadcast each year.
Although they have freedom when creating, it is very important that the program follows the RTVE style manual, something that they make very clear in the document that they will sign with the producers of La Resistencia.
It has been announced that Broncano would be protected by TVE (as well as his collaborators Jorge Ponce or Ricardo Castella), but the network retains the possibility of terminating the contract during the second season if it does not reach audience data equal to or above the average. of the channel (around 7.5% screen share in prime time).
At the moment, more details about the contract are unknown, but it is known that tomorrow at the Council meeting the project could be given the green light and the departure of La Resistencia from Movistar Plus could be confirmed after six years of success.
David Broncano has not taken a position regarding the controversy and, despite being one of the undisputed protagonists of recent days, he has opted for a comfortable silence and to let the senior bosses be the ones to negotiate and ‘fight’ over the Format.
