More than 70 years of research on menopause have been reviewed by a group of scientists, who draw attention to the knowledge gaps that still exist, noting that more than 85% of women in high-income countries do not receive effective treatment for your symptoms.

The authors caution that even if there are no noticeable symptoms, there may be important “silent health consequences,” such as bone loss and increased risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain cancers.
