A man was run over this morning in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona) when trying to cross an unauthorized crossing point on the Rodalies R4 line, as confirmed by Renfe this Tuesday. It is the second incident in just over a week, when four young people also died in a multiple train accident in Montmeló (Vallès Oriental).

The incident occurred around 5:30 in the morning. Shortly after, the operator reported an accident due to the passage “of a person at an unauthorized crossing point.”

After the accident, traffic has been interrupted in both directions, which has led to delays in the frequency of the Rodalies line R4, although Renfe has already restored the service, as reported in its X account. .

The Mossos d’Esquadra have informed Efe that the event is being investigated as a suicide, but for now they have not given any further details of the investigation.

It is the second fatal train accident that has occurred in Catalonia in less than a month. Just a few days ago, a train ran over four young people when they were crossing the track at an unauthorized point along with three other people, who were unharmed, between the Parets del Vallès and Granollers-Canovelles stations. In this case, they were three girls and a boy between 19 and 22 years old.
