The Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati Desmosedici GP22) achieved the first pole position in the MotoGP Indian Grand Prix that takes place this weekend at the “Buddh International” circuit ahead of the Spanish Jorge Martín and his compatriot and leader of the world championship, Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia, both on Ducati paths.
Jorge Martín was precisely one of the first protagonists of the day when he suffered a fall during the second free practice that left him with only one motorcycle for a good part of the official classification, while his mechanics tried to repair the damaged motorcycle in time.
The work was intense in Martín’s workshop throughout the first classification, to try to give the Madrid rider his two motorcycles in the second classification, while on the track the riders sought to finish in one of the first two positions that would give them passage to the following.
The South African Brad Binder (KTM RC 16) was the first valid reference, with 1:44.761, when the halfway point of the classification was crossed, scheduled at fifteen minutes and all the riders entered their workshops to prepare for the second outing on the track with tires. new soft compound on the rear axle of practically all their motorcycles.

Alex Márquez (Ducati Desmosedici GP22) was the first involuntary protagonist when he rolled on the ground in that second attempt, which in addition to preventing him from improving, although he already had the second best time, also left his rivals without options when the track marshals showed yellow flag and seeing all the fastest laps of those drivers who had to pass by the place of the Spaniard’s accident cancelled.
Thus, the Spaniards Raúl Fernández (Aprilia RS-GP) and the aforementioned Alex Márquez made it to the second classification, who could not compete as he had to be treated at the circuit clinic after the strong blow he suffered.
In the second classification, Marc Márquez (Honda RC 213 V) was very aware of the exit to the track of the also Spaniard Jorge Martín to try to follow in his wake and although he realized this and tried to “get away” from his pursuit, he did not do so. he managed, although Márquez ended up crashing in turn three.
Jorge Martín, who had also suffered an accident in free practice, did not take long to take the lead by lapping in 1:44.153 in his first attack, after which he entered his workshop.
In the second outing on the track, the Italian Marco Bezzecchi was the first to break the barrier of one minute and 44 seconds by lapping in 1:43.947, with which he ousted Jorge Martín from first place, but still with the option of going for a lap. further.
No one could beat Bezzecchi’s record, who took the first pole position on the “Buddh International” circuit, ahead of fellow Ducati riders Jorge Martín, Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia and Luca Marini.
