The plaque, 40 by 25 centimeters, was installed in honor of priest Jaume Oliveras i Brossa, hiker and climber who completed the Matagalls-Montserrat Crossing in 1904.
The Club Excursionista de Gràcia installed two identical plaques in 2004: the first in Santuario de Montserrat and the second on the summit of Matagalls. The plaque at the foot of the Cross is integrated as cultural heritage in the Montseny Natural Park
