The PSC “will not impose vetoes to form a government” in Catalonia. This has been stated by Alícia Romero, number two on the Socialists’ lists for the next Catalan elections.

In an interview in Ser Catalunya, Romero recalled that “they have already agreed with ERC and Junts” before, so he does not close the door to repeating it to form a government.

“We only veto the extreme right. Neither with Orriols, nor with Vox,” Romero confirmed. The socialist has assured that in the PSC “they are satisfied” with the tripartite with ERC, where “there were lights and shadows”, so there is no “taboo” for both parties to govern together.

Although Aragonès assured that he saw it as impossible to invest Illa, Romero commented that “they also saw it as impossible to invest in Sánchez and they have done so”, and considered that the president’s statement is “typical of an electoral campaign”.

Regarding the referendum proposed by the ERC leader, Romero has confirmed that “they do not want it”, as it would be “repeating a failure.” “It is an element that divides,” added the socialist spokesperson.

Finally, Romero has valued the proposal of the independentists for self-financing for Catalonia, ensuring that “we would have a problem” if “we all wanted” exclusive financing.
