Refueling is becoming more and more expensive. Since the beginning of the year, fuel prices (gasoline and diesel) have increased by 27% and 15.5%, respectively, according to the latest data from the European Union Petroleum Bulletin.

Gasoline has had 12 weeks of increases, from July 10, in the middle of the summer holidays, to September 28, when this bulletin was closed. In all that time, at gas stations it has always been above 1.70 euros per liter.

In the case of diesel, it also has 12 consecutive weeks on the rise and has had 6 consecutive weeks above 1.6 euros per liter. With all this, this fuel registers the highest price since the last week of January 2023, when it exceeded 1.70 euros, according to the data in this bulletin.

Despite the increase in both fuels, the increase in Spain is smaller, especially if we compare it with the rest of the Member States. The price of both fuels in our country is lower than that recorded on average in the euro zone and the Europe of 27.

In October, users will be attentive to see if fuel prices continue to rise and where they can refuel more economically.
