The wedding celebration that brought together the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, with Teresa Urquijo, has not only been a notable event for its list of renowned guests and the idyllic setting of the Cruz del Canto estate, but also for its exquisite menu, designed to delight the almost 600 attendees.
The wedding, meticulously planned by the renowned event organizer Eva Iglesias, had as one of its strong points the wedding menu, advanced by Iglesias herself at the doors of the parish.
This menu was a compendium of flavors. In this way, the first course, a seafood salpicón, has been the perfect choice to open the banquet, combining freshness and sea flavor, prepared in a way that has enhanced its naturalness and quality.
The main course, a Wagyu sirloin – one of the best meats that can be eaten today due to the scrupulous techniques with which the cows are cared for – cooked at a low temperature, has demonstrated the fusion of modern culinary techniques with top-notch products.
To close, the couple has given the guests the chance to choose between two desserts. The first was a cream millefeuille with candied strawberries, while the second option was a brownie with yogurt cream, strawberries and vanilla ice cream to accompany.
The person in charge of bringing this ambitious menu to life, after paying 96,000 euros, has been the historic Madrid restaurant Lardhy, whose experience and reputation have guaranteed excellence in each dish served. In addition, it is one of the favorites of King Emeritus Juan Carlos I, who was one of the most important guests at the wedding.
As if all this were not enough, it is expected that around midnight a dinner will be made to satisfy any craving that has appeared over the hours. At this time, sausages, cheeses, mini-pizzas and hot dogs will be served, the latter a particular wish of the mayor.
