The Mossos de Esquadra have arrested three men this Monday for allegedly having participated in a fight in which four people were injured by a knife on September 30 in Vic, specifically in the Estadi de Vic neighborhood.

The three detained by the police are Indian nationals, aged 32, 27 and 23 years old, and as the investigation has confirmed, the three maintain a friendly relationship. These are the first three arrested in reference to this brawl although the police hope to make more arrests.

This incident in Vic, which according to police sources occurred due to a sentimental dispute, was together with a recent mass fight in Manresa and the disturbances at the Molins de Rei Festival, one of the triggers that have once again put the focus on the security.

Eduard Sallent, police chief of the Mossos, said last Friday on TV3 that although last summer was “very calm” after the incidents in Vic, Manresa and Molins de Rei, a feeling of insecurity has been generated, despite the fact that it is of facts of a “very different nature”.

Sallent stated that the Molins de Rei case was a different case since the incident was carried out by people who did not previously know each other, who had not met to go to “trouble” and who exercised “gratuitous violence” taking advantage of the crowd.

On the other hand, the riot in Manresa originated from a fight in an institute that led to hundreds of people demonstrating to demand security in the municipality.
