One person has died and another has been injured this afternoon in a shooting next to the Mossos d’Esquadra police station in Tarragona, in the Camp Clar neighborhood. A fight between several people from two opposing clans has led to the confrontation with the use of firearms, as confirmed by police sources. The police are still searching at this time for the perpetrator of the fatal shots who later barricaded himself in an apartment.
The Mossos d’Esquadra have sent several Citizen Security and ARRO patrols to the scene, a few meters from the police station, as well as police from the investigation unit. The entire area has been besieged by the police forces, with several of the streets near the police station blocked by police vehicles, with participation from the air with a helicopter to try to detect the movements of the murderer. Units of the Special Intervention Group (GEI) of the Mossos d’Esquadra have also been activated.
The Catalan police are investigating the origin, motive and circumstances of the shooting brawl in the Camp Clar neighborhood.
