The National Police together with the Municipal Police have arrested five people in Madrid who were distributing cocaine hidden in heated vehicles in the region, in an operation in which 25 kilos of this drug were seized.

Both bodies have reported the dismantling of this criminal organization that investigators have been tracking for more than a year when the National Police dismantled a network dedicated to importing cocaine to Spain from Panama hidden in batteries of mechanical bulls.

The distribution of this drug was in charge of the network arrested on this occasion and which specialized in manufacturing compartments in vehicles to hide cocaine.

The investigators located the base of operations of this criminal organization in several properties in Madrid, which they used as a cocaine “nursery” using the “Just-in-time” business model, which, as the police explains in a statement, consists of collecting of large quantities of substance and put it on the market quickly.

During the last few months, the efforts of investigators have intensified and on September 22, a possible transport of a narcotic substance in a vehicle was detected.

With the collaboration of the Madrid Municipal Police, the suspicious car was intercepted leaving the capital on the A-1. Inside, a cove was discovered that housed ten packages of cocaine, each weighing one kilo, containing cocaine.

In addition, three entries and searches were carried out, bringing the sum of what was seized in all locations to 25 kilos of this drug, in addition to another kilo of hashish, 78,000 euros in cash, two vehicles, several mobile terminals and documentation.

The operation resulted in the arrest of five members of the organization who were brought to justice, decreeing the imprisonment of three of them, while the investigation remains open in order to identify other possible participants.
