The advancement of new technologies affects all types of areas of our daily lives, among which the social sphere stands out. It is increasingly common to meet people through social networks, especially when it comes to flirting.

A few decades ago, the population was limited to meeting potential partners in person; However, currently dating apps are the main protagonists. The numerous apps available allow you to meet people comfortably and quickly, although the truth is that they can be dangerous.

This is what TikToker Cristian Barro has told us, who has shared a devastating experience that took place on a dating app. As the content creator points out in his video, the owner of a coffee shop took advantage of innocent people with one plan in mind: to make money.

To do this, the hotelier used Tinder, one of the most popular dating platforms in the world. Two ‘premium’ accounts were opened with fake profiles of a successful and irresistible man and woman. The objective? Draw the attention of users.

After creating the fake accounts, the cafeteria owner obtained dozens of matches every day. In this way, he began to meet at his cafeteria with every person he knew on Tinder, causing the date to arrive at the premises only to realize minutes later that they had stood him up.

At this point, Tinder matches were asking the scammer where he was and when he would arrive for the date. What they didn’t imagine was that the person behind everything was the owner of the cafeteria himself.

The tiktoker points out: “I told him I was coming, to order a coffee and a dessert that were ‘the best in the area’.” In fact, he told his dates to ask him for something while he arrived at the store, and that when he arrived, he would pay for it without any problem.

As expected, the appointment never arrived, thus leaving a bill to pay at the cafeteria. Thanks to this effective (and cruel) technique, the owner managed to pocket around $500-$1,000 a day.
