The PP does not give in to the demands of these last days of the Government in office and of Pedro Sánchez himself for the popular people, and specifically Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to stop “agitating the street” on the eve of the party of the Twelfth of October, which is celebrated today and in which the head of the Executive usually receives boos from the public. In fact, the general coordinator of the PP, Elías Bendodo, lent himself yesterday to the possible protest that the acting president of the central government may receive today during the military parade, stating that “if the citizens whistle at Sánchez, they will have their reasons”. .
In any case, Bendodo, from Málaga, dissociated his party from possible protests. The Popular Party “has nothing to do with it”, he said, and urged Sánchez to look at himself and “what he is doing”, to find the reason. Also the spokesperson of the PP, Borja Sémper, replied to the PSOE that his formation “has no problem with the 12-O”, and if anyone has it, it is the central government.
On the other hand, and with respect to the parade, the Ministry of Defense came out yesterday in the face of criticism for the change of location, from the Passeig de la Castellana to the Passeig de Recoletos and the Prado, and assured, in a statement, which is due to the works on the new cycle path in La Castellana and other changes in urban furniture that “prevent” the execution of the military parade “normally”. Defensa ruled out that the modification of the route, which will culminate in Colón, is an attempt to dampen possible booing of the president or members of the central government, but that “it is due to circumstances that arose in the urban route” that are “alien”. The statement specifies that “traffic lights, islands and medians have been installed (and includes photographs) on the central road of Passeig de la Castellana”, which would prevent the passage of “motorized units, on foot and on horseback, which they are the bulk of the terrestrial parade”.
