The long weekends of October 9 and 12 in the Valencian Community have been for the hospitality sector “the best long weekends of these dates in the last five years, even surpassing the pre-covid figures”, according to the Leisure and Hospitality Coordinator of the Valencian Community (CEOH).

Taking into account that last year there were rainy days, and that this year the weather has been good, the turnover of these days has increased “up to 50%” in the hospitality and leisure establishments as a whole with respect to the figures last year, says the CEOH.

The Coordinator explained this Sunday in a statement that for the leisure and hospitality companies of the Valencian Community the balance of the last tourist week has been “very positive”, since two long weekends have been able to be linked together, as October 9 on Monday and El Pilar on Thursday.

The economic impact has been “very distributed” and “has benefited all tourism sectors,” says the CEOH, which adds that the good results for the sector have allowed “more than 50,000 extra jobs to be created” spread throughout the Community. among hospitality and leisure SMEs.

The same sources have indicated that autumn long weekends traditionally benefit inland tourism more, but this year’s good weather has benefited both the rural houses, restaurants and leisure venues in the interior of the Community as well as all the sun and sun destinations. beach, which have had “magnificent occupancy levels”, and to the big cities.
