It’s no secret that Jorge Javier Vázquez doesn’t like weddings. He himself has confessed it on several occasions, although he has also admitted that he is not very clear why. However, he did not hesitate to agree to be the best man at Isa Pantoja’s wedding and take her to the altar on the most important day of her life. “He is a person who has trusted me from the first moment,” Isa confessed. “He is my television godfather and I wanted him to also be on a day as important as my wedding.”
Said and done, the presenter took Isabel Pantoja’s daughter to the altar, where her husband, Asraf Beno, was waiting for her. A very exciting and nervous moment, which all members of her family missed, except for her cousin Anabel Pantoja. A wedding in which the one from Badalona admits that he cried “a lot”, and that, according to the presenter, everything he experienced at Isa and Asraf’s wedding “exuded truth”.
“The posture, the pose, the well-being were conspicuous by their absence,” says Jorge Javier in his weekly column for Lecturas magazine, where he wanted to share his experience as best man at the future lawyer’s wedding. A young woman whom he has seen grow up and with whom he has suffered a little in his teenage years.
“She was a young woman and the daughter of one of the best-known women in our country,” explains the presenter, who insists that “with perspective, Isa’s crazy time could be published in a parish sheet,” because “it has not been for so much” – at least, compared to what other famous “children of” have done.
The presenter highlights that “Isa is in another situation.” She is more mature, with “an impeccable emotional discourse” that she has forged after years of facing controversies and more than complicated family situations. “Life is not what happens to us, but how we deal with what happens to us,” reflects Jorge Javier Vázquez, “And given what we have seen, Isa is not doing it badly. In fact, I would say that hers is a example of sanity and temperance”.
The link highlighted that facet of Isabel Pantoja’s daughter. There were notable family absences, but the daughter of the tonadillera was very supported by all those who did want to be by her side. Anabel Pantoja, Dulce, Asraf’s entire family, her childhood friends… All of them enjoyed and accompanied the couple on their big day. The presenter says that Isa said at the end that everyone who was there occupied a place in her heart.
“She is surrounded by people who love her and care about her. I noticed it on the wedding day,” she says. “Isa is a very lucky woman.”
An authentic wedding, without a hint of falsehood that, in the presenter’s words, has even made him rethink his idea of ??marriage. “After what I’ve seen, I don’t know. Maybe, who knows. If someone appeared, they would ask me.”
