The Government plans to present the Bill for the Statute of rural municipalities at the end of this year to give the green light to the legislative processing of the document. It was announced by the counselor of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà, who has specified that the regulations will be aimed at municipalities with less than 2,000 inhabitants.

The Draft Bill contemplates having a new regulatory framework with legal status adapted to the needs of rural municipalities. In this sense, Vilagrà has specified that the Government is working to make specific regulations a reality for municipalities with less than 2,000 inhabitants and, with more “special” attention, for towns with less than 500 inhabitants.

The councilor also recalled that the Generallitat is working on the draft law on local governments and financing, in order to establish a local government system, its powers and its modalities of exercise.

Vilagrà made these statements in a media address within the framework of the closing ceremony of the Municipalia de Lleida fair and the Innocámping Show.

The event was attended by 20,000 visitors, a figure similar to that of the last editions, generating an economic impact of 15 million euros.

The president of Fira de Lleida and mayor of the city, Fèlix Larrosa, has said that this year’s edition has confirmed the “success model” of the event and has added that they want to enhance it for future editions.

The objective of the fair is for visitors, mainly mayors, councilors and technicians from Catalonia and around the world, to learn about the latest developments at the municipal level in terms of electric mobility, waste collection management and water management, among others. others.
