Spotting dolphins is an incredible experience, but swimming with them goes much further. Tell it to a group of tourists who were enjoying a swim on a beach in Gran Canaria, when a group of ‘culichichis’ dolphins appeared out of nowhere.

This is not the first time that dolphins have arrived in Canary Islands waters, as it is quite common to find this cetacean in our country, especially if a boat is used. However, this situation does not usually occur a few meters from the coast.

As TikTok user @yonaymar has shown, the group of bathers was in the water when the dolphins appeared wanting to play. A most shocking scene.

The encounter between humans and cetaceans took place on the coast of Tasarte, a town located in the Gran Canaria municipality of La Aldea de San Nicolás; but it is not the only beach on the Canary Islands where you can watch dolphins.

The Acantilado de los Gigantes, on the west coast of Tenerife, is an ideal point of interest for those who love dolphins. It is a tourist destination of great relevance, thanks to its volcanic landscapes and its aquatic activities.

Likewise, it is a very particular location, since it is home to the highest concentration of threatened species in the entire country. In this space species such as the Osprey, the Tagarote Falcon, the Bulwer Petrel and the Teno Giant Lizard coexist, among others.
