The protagonist of this story is a Datsun 280Z, a sports car manufactured by Nissan in 1975 for the American market.

The YouTube channel Ammo NYC found one of these gems in a lost barn in the United States in 2020. And with an extra: it was almost new but had not been washed in 44 years. The car only traveled 563 kilometers and was missing some parts. What was your story?

A man bought it in 1975 and when he took it out of the dealership he realized that the little Japanese gem had a scratch on the front bumper. The dealership offered to fix it but the buyer wanted a new bumper.

In the end the seller agreed and the car owner removed the bumper to have it replaced. But he asked for some extras at his expense: he decided to change the radio for one of the first boomboxes that were all the rage at that time. And he wanted to incorporate some things into the vehicle so that it would be the great expectation on the streets.

The truth is that he dismantled half of the Datsun’s interior and ran out of money to pay for the renovations. That determined that the vehicle, with less than 600 kilometers traveled, went to sleep in the barn. And a man named Stephen Walker showed up, who bought it in October 2020, and couldn’t believe what state the machine was in.

With the missing pieces placed and the washing, it turned out as what it is: a gem. And with a plus: since its doors have been closed all these years, the aroma inside is that of a car that has just left the dealership.
