The manufacturer Mink Campers became known under the motto “the best things in life are free and wild” when it hit the market between 2015 and 2017. Since then, the minicamp brand has surprised many travelers with its small compact trailers and relatively inexpensive, offering almost the same amenities as a much larger recreational vehicle. And all, with the advantage of being able to easily access places far from nature.

With the recent arrival to the family of the new Mink-E, which is the fully electric version of the flagship Mink-S model, the fleet is now made up of three minicampers, each one for a different use, with the Mink-X being the most all-rounder of all.

The Mink-E is also the lightest and most sustainable model in the range. It is designed to be towed by both an electric car and a compact sedan. The weight has been reduced by more than 200 kg compared to the model on which it is based (obtaining a total figure of only 520 kg).

Furthermore, the appliances it incorporates no longer depend on gas, but rather work with electricity obtained from the solar panel system installed on the trailer, from the external charging port or from the battery of the towing vehicle.

It has a teardrop-shaped aesthetic and is a little longer than the Mink-S: it measures 4.1 meters in total length, but it has the same design as its predecessor. Inside, it includes a queen-size double bed that can be converted into a sofa and an optional folding bed for a child, a storage area and a large skylight, as well as wrap-around windows that allow you to enjoy views of the surrounding landscape.

The structure is covered with 19 mm thick Armaflex insulation that keeps its interior well thermally insulated. It also has a heater and air conditioning to keep the space comfortable regardless of the time of year.

The Mink-E is intended to be enjoyed by families with a small child, couples with a pet, or solo travelers. That is why the third bed can be replaced, as an option, by a multifunctional shelf to adapt to each need.

The kitchen is located in the tailgate and has a small under-counter refrigerator and an induction stove. Both are powered by the integrated battery and the trailer’s solar system. The Webasto diesel heating of the previous models has been replaced by an electric heating.

Mink Campers ensures that all the materials used for the production of this minicamper have been carefully selected taking into account sustainability criteria: around 25% can be recycled at the end of the trailer’s life cycle.

The minicamper combines white with a striking electric blue with gray details, clearly differentiating itself from the yellow and black contrast of its predecessor. The price of the electric version is around 30,000 euros, in contrast to 14,000 euros for the S version. Currently, Mink Campers ships to Europe and the United Kingdom, and will soon also land in the United States and Canada markets.
