The National Police has arrested a 17-year-old young man in Súria (Barcelona) for production, possession and distribution of child pornography, as he captured real images of minors from his window and then modified them using artificial intelligence to convert them into sexual content.
According to what the National Police reported this Tuesday, during the police search at the home of the detained minor, the agents found a large number of files of child pornography with sexual images, some of them very harsh, as well as images of minors taken from his window . Specifically, these files with pornographic content were found after the agents analyzed the electronic devices seized in the room of the detained minor.
As for the photographs found, they were taken by the minor himself from his window, and they show young children playing in front of his house, either in shorts or a bikini. Then, using artificial intelligence, he manipulated the photographs and removed the minors’ clothing and, once modified, distributed them on social networks.
The detained minor, who had been committing this criminal activity since he was 14 years old, has been placed at the disposal of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation began after the National Police detected more than 300 pedophile files that were being advertised on social networks and instant messaging applications, in which the person who distributed them massively also offered the transformation of any photo of a minor in pornographic image. Once the author of this distribution of child pornography was located, the agents verified that he was a minor, a computer science student.
The investigation was initiated jointly by the child protection group of the National Police in Madrid and the Cybercrime section of Barcelona.
