The second edition of the Madrid International Light Festival will premiere a total of six works designed and produced by artists for unique spaces in the capital, such as the Alfonso XII monument in Retiro Park, the Cuesta de Claudio Moyano, the Arab wall or Caixaforum’s vertical garden.

To these will be added the Matadero Madrid warehouse and the Prague Bridge, which will be illuminated along with the other four works during October 27 and 29, for free, between eight in the afternoon and one in the morning , informs the Madrid City Council.

The works have been designed by Juan Gómez-Cornejo, Ramón de los Heros Manchado, Cube.bz., Ezequiel Nobili, Rosa Muñoz and Ricardo Morcillo and are called ‘Stop time’ (monument to Alfonso of read and unread books’ (Cuesta de Moyano), ‘Mayrit. Water, stone, fire and meat’ (Arab wall), ‘Floresta de Cristal’ (vertical garden), ‘Octantis’ (Slaughterhouse tank) and ‘Hipóstyle’ (Prague Bridge), respectively.

In this edition, the cultural event will feature more than 20 works distributed in four areas of the city and will reach the Carabanchel district.

This festival, which was born in 2021 to celebrate the recognition of the Landscape of Light as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was suspended in 2022 due to the energy context of high prices.
