This Monday, Spain will continue to be under the influence of storm Celine, which will put a dozen provinces on notice due to rain and coastal phenomena, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Afterwards, there will be stabilization in a good part of the territory, but for a short time.

On Wednesday, the arrival of Storm Ciaran, named by the United Kingdom Meteorological Service, is expected. This low pressure area will give rise to “very strong winds in large areas of the Peninsula, maritime storms in the north and almost generalized rains, except in the southeast.”

However, the agency has not yet specified the impact of this new storm, which will mainly affect the north of the peninsula and will barely have an impact on the southeast.

While waiting for the Ciaran storm, Aemet forecasts precipitation for today in Galicia and in a weaker form and from west to east, which will cover almost the entire rest of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. They will be unlikely and dispersed in the Mediterranean area. The rains will tend to subside throughout the day.

In the rest of the country, cloudy or overcast skies are expected as the front passes as it moves from west to east through the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, leaving intervals of clouds after its passage, although cloudiness will increase in the northwest.

Regarding temperatures, there will be a general decrease in temperatures, except for the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean area and Galicia, where they will remain with few changes. In provinces such as Murcia, Granada, Alicante or Almería the maximum temperature will be around 25 degrees; while in León or Lugo they will not exceed 13.

The snow level will drop to 1800/2200 meters in the Pyrenees; 1600/2000 meters in the Cantabrian mountain range and central system, although with little probability and weakly, and 2000/2400 meters in Sierra Nevada.
