Aging is a risk factor for developing several eye conditions. The most common is presbyopia or eyestrain, but other pathologies such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic rhinopathy and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) are added to the list.
In short, our vision suffers as the years go by. Knowing how to recognize the symptoms that announce each of these conditions is important to remedy them, since some require the use of glasses, while in other cases surgical intervention is required.
Of course, age is not the only thing that influences vision deterioration, but genetic factors, the person’s lifestyle and work, as well as suffering from certain diseases or taking some medications, also matter. Although age increases the risk of our eyesight getting worse, it is possible (and advisable) to acquire a series of healthy habits to take care of our vision.
