After selling the Bodas.net portal, a search engine specialized in organizing weddings, Francesc Baldrich, Nina Pérez and Gregorio Martínez found their new business opportunity in interior decoration. The three entrepreneurs returned as partners, co-founding the startup Livitum in mid-2021. “We saw the opportunity to apply technology to online decoration, simplifying and making the process cheaper,” says Baldrich, who had also previously co-founded the Emagister portal.
Based in Sant Cugat del Vallès, the startup has a team of 17 people who ensure that Livitum users can make their dream home a reality with a budget lower than that of a traditional interior design agency. Based on images and information about the space to be decorated and the client’s tastes and budget, in less than 15 days a startup advisor prepares a 3D design proposal along with a list of personalized furniture.
The proposed furniture and decoration items can be purchased from the same platform, which also has a home delivery and assembly service through agreements with more than 50 decoration brands, such as Kave Home. “We operate throughout Spain and later we would like to make the leap to other countries,” adds Baldrich.
Livitum’s online interior decoration service has been operational since January of this year and has involved an investment of half a million euros. Since its launch, the startup has carried out more than a thousand decoration projects, with prices ranging between 36 euros and 65 euros per stay, depending on whether the expenditure on furniture and decoration exceeds 1,500 euros or 2,500 euros, respectively. The startup has declined to make public its billing estimate for this year.
