A good wine is always a great option to give as a gift and surprise, especially now that the holidays are approaching and many wait until the last minute to buy gifts. To make your search easier, we have selected some bottles that you can give to your friends or loved ones this Christmas or add to your letter to the Three Wise Men so they can give them to you.
A well-made sparkling wine is always a success. Here the vineyards are located close to the sea, in the Maresme, which will regulate the temperature of the vineyard. Its expression is the result of the complexity provided by the barrel aging of the base wine and an aging of 40 months. The slightly golden color reveals its preparation, as well as its fine bubble. In aromas I find pippin apple, stone fruit, dried flowers and a touch of pastry. The palate is creamy, fresh and the finish is aromatic.
Give me Pinot Noir. Surprising wine made in Almansa with this delicious grape, more associated with cool areas. The trick is the Hoya Colorá plot, at 1000 meters above sea level surrounded by lakes and providing conditions that pamper the vineyard. Its production involves 20% stems and some barrels with some use. It is a perfume of flowers and fruits on the nose. Its palate is pure balance, with silky tannins, good acidity and a finish with notes of leaves and fine wet earth.
This is a surprising wine, the result of the patience of those who have cared for these old vines in hostile, stony and rustic terrain. It is pure silk, elegance and complexity. A Grenache that melts in the mouth with juicy red fruit and good acidity. The aromas include strawberries, cherries, licorice, hints of coffee, spices and smoky notes. Very enjoyable at the moment and will improve as time goes by.
For those who tell us that they don’t usually drink wine, until we let them try a white made with Riesling grapes. If it is also from Alsatian and from a great producer like Léon Beyer, with a great tradition in these parts, the result can only be positive. Very aromatic wine with white fruit, lemon-like citrus, touches of flint and minerals. In the mouth, a good acidity goes hand in hand with a certain friendliness, which gives it magic.
Natural sparkling wine, very particular and that I really loved for its personality and clean style, but a little vinous. It offers roasted apple, quince, white pear, dried flowers and citrus touches. During the process, these aromas merge with good acidity and creaminess, leaving aromas of bakery and yeast for the finish. Ideal for those who enjoy discovering other styles of champagne.
With a sweet wine you will always be right when it comes to entertaining on these dates, for those afternoons with family or friends. Its vineyards juggle to develop in such steep orography and at high altitude. This gives the wine a formidable acidity that will offset the sweetness. Notes of candied orange, dried flowers, ripe apple and sweet spices are very noticeable in its perfumed nose.
A sparkling rosé is becoming more and more popular. If it also has a very long aging, guarded by a family with impeccable background and knowledge as is the case with Recaredo, they make it an absolutely gastronomic sparkling wine. The nose is full of nuances dominated by red berries, floral notes and sweet spices. The palate is creamy, enveloping, fresh and very harmonious. A limited edition, which is a real gift.
