After a rainy Wednesday and a bright red sunrise, this Thursday morning and noon we had wind in the Vallès Oriental.
A wind that, together with some clouds that have not disappeared, have caused curious shapes in the sky. These large, colorful flying saucer-shaped clouds are shaped in this way by the wind.
Some curious clouds, which I have portrayed for La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos from Sant Celoni and which, in the end, have disappeared, giving way to black clouds, which advance with the passage of time.
So between the rain yesterday morning and what is expected tomorrow, we have been entertained by a remarkable variety of weather phenomena.
These types of clouds that seem to be made by the wind are lenticular. They are called that because they are shaped like a lentil, as their name indicates, or there are also those who see them as shaped like a saucer or converging lens.
They are stationary and form mainly at high altitudes in mountainous areas and isolated from other clouds. Among mountaineers these clouds are considered a harbinger of a storm.
