New Update for Sulfur Demo Released

The creators of Sulfur, a first-person shooter game with roguelike and RPG elements, have announced a significant update to its demo on Steam. Three new weapons are being introduced to the game, with a trailer showcasing them at the PC Gaming Show. Perfect Random, the independent studio behind Sulfur, was impressed by the amount of time players have spent on the demo and decided to enhance it for free.

Sulfur is a solo extraction shooter where players battle monsters, collect new weapons and items, and upgrade them to progress further in each playthrough. It combines elements of roguelike dungeon exploration with gunplay and item crafting similar to Diablo. The game pays homage to classic shooters and action RPGs, allowing players to create their own unique builds and test their limits.

In addition to its colorful visuals, Sulfur features realistic gun models that add to the immersive gameplay experience. The new weapons introduced in the demo include the Dolphin 99 sniper rifle, the powerful 357 Balthazar pistol, and the rapid-fire Type 80 Typhoon machine gun. Each weapon offers a distinct playstyle and strategic advantage in combat.

While Sulfur emphasizes intense gunfights and exploration, players must be cautious as death results in losing all progress made during the run. This risk-reward mechanic adds a layer of challenge and excitement, reminiscent of classic roguelike games.

Perfect Random has scheduled the full release of Sulfur for 2024, but players can enjoy the updated demo now. Stay informed about the latest news and exclusive deals curated by the PC Gamer team.
