Leo Messi continues celebrating his triumphs. The captain of the Argentine National Team has decided to give his teammates a totally exclusive mobile phone in honor of the victory experienced in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This luxurious gesture has involved the purchase of 35 gold-plated iPhone 14s, reaching a huge amount of 210,000 euros, as published by TNT Sports, something that very few can afford.
Those in charge of creating these relics, Benjamin Lyons and the iDesign Gold company, have shared the creation on their Instagram accounts: “It was an honor to give Leo Messi 35 gold iPhone 14s for his teammates and staff as a gift for winning the final of the world cup”.
Each member of the Scaleneta will receive a totally unique smartphone in the world. In it we can see the shield of the Argentine Football Association, the three stars and the legend “World Cup Champions 2022”. Likewise, the upper part of the device will have the last name and jersey number of the player in question.
Ben Lyons, CEO of the company, has confirmed the shipment of the devices to Messi’s house in Paris: “Lionel is not only ‘the GOAT’ (the best of all time), but he is one of the most loyal customers and he contacted us a couple of months after the World Cup final,” he says. He said that he wanted a special gift to celebrate the incredible victory, but he didn’t want the usual gift of watches. So, I suggested this to him and he loved the idea.”
Among the images shared on social networks, you can see the mobile devices that will soon belong to players like Ángel Di María, Nicolás Otamendi, Rodrigo De Paul, Alexis Mac Allister and Julián Álvarez, among others.
It is not the first time that the company collaborates with the ‘Flea’. In 2022, iDesign Gold has already created a custom iPhone 13 with its name. Now, the man from Rosario, named best player of the Argentine National Team during the World Cup in Qatar, has decided to take this tradition to the rest of the team.
Argentina won the World Cup last December, 36 years after their last title. In an exciting final, Argentina and France met, concluding the match in a penalty shootout that resulted in victory for the South Americans.
Leo Messi, captain and star of the albiceleste team, was named the best player of the tournament, equaling the historic Maradona. The Argentine scored two goals during the game, as well as a penalty in the final shootout.
