The new head of Twitter leads the way: to be the "most reliable source of information in the world"

Although Linda Yaccarino assumed her position as the new CEO of Twitter a few weeks ago, it was not until this week that the first thing she did after taking office was leaked: send her team an email marking her goals at the head of the social platform owned by by Elon Musk. “Twitter’s mission is to become the most accurate real-time source of information in the world,” Yaccarino highlights in her presentation message to her employees.

“Building Twitter 2.0 together” is the subject of the email that Yaccarino sent to the staff. In it, he underscored the mogul’s shared goal for the company to be “the global public square” for internet communication. This goal is in line with the idea already advanced by Musk on several occasions to turn Twitter into a super app. The letter spares no praise for his mentor: “From space exploration to electric vehicles, Elon knew these industries needed transformation, so he did it,” he wrote.

“More recently, it has become increasingly clear that the global city square needs a transformation to drive civilization through unfiltered information sharing and open dialogue about the things that matter most to us,” he added.

“Twitter is on a mission to become the world’s most accurate source of real-time information and a global public square for communication. We are on the verge of making history, and that is not an empty promise. That is our reality, ”she emphasized. The new head of Twitter also sends motivational messages to her employees: “You have to genuinely believe and work hard for that belief, because the success of Twitter 2.0 is everyone’s responsibility.”

“We have to think big. We need to transform. We have to do it all together,” she added. To make it possible, the CEO indicated that it is necessary to “question our assumptions and build something new from scratch.” “It is rare to have the opportunity to put a new future in the hands of every person, partner and creator on the planet. That is exactly why I am here with all of you”, the message ended before encouraging the team to build the new stage “together”.

Yaccarino, however, did not refer to any of the specific challenges facing the social network. It should be remembered that the platform has suffered a drop in revenue since Musk’s landing, since advertising has decreased. In addition, the workforce has been reduced to 1,500 employees to date, since the owner of Tesla and SpaceX bought Twitter.
