State of Play: How to watch the PlayStation video game presentation

Sony’s video game division has announced a new edition of its State of Play program dedicated to upcoming releases for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2. The presentation will take place this Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. (Peninsular time) and can be followed from the company’s official channels on TikTok, Twitch or on YouTube (through the following video).

After Microsoft showed its cards a few days ago, now it is the Japanese company’s turn. As Sony itself has specified, the digital event “will offer 40 minutes of content focused on more than 15 video games, including games for PlayStation VR2, in-depth news of the long-awaited PlayStation 5 exclusive titles Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade.”

Rise of Ronin is scheduled to hit stores on March 22 and is an open-world adventure set in 19th century Japan. Behind them is Team Ninja, the creators of Nioh or Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from whom we can expect a technical combat system full of possibilities.

On the other hand, Stellar Blade is an action game set in a cyberpunk world and developed by the Korean studio SHIFT UP Corporation. This title has been shown in presentations for years – in fact, it has already appeared in previous State of Play – so from today’s event we hope to at least come out with a release date.

Another title that has a good chance of appearing in today’s live stream is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which will go on sale next February 29.

However, if Sony has a mission tonight it is none other than to try to revitalize interest in its PlayStation VR2 virtual reality device, since a year after its launch it still does not have enough titles that fully exploit its potential.
