Square Enix discusses the challenges of bringing Life is Strange to Switch: True Colors to Switch

After a delay in August is finally ready to release on Switch next month. Square Enix spoke out about the technical work that was done to make the game run smoothly on Switch.
Square Enix released a press release stating that the Switch version Life Is Strange: True Colors was “developed specifically for Nintendo,” which in turn led to a rush of design challenges. According to Square Enix, the development team made “many technical modifications” to the game to ensure it met its standards. This involved “reworking every character model, environment object and all foliage throughout the game as well as rebuilding the lighting engine.”

Jon Brooke, Square Enix External Studios’ co-head of studio, added additional comments to emphasize how important it is for the team to ensure that the game meets a high standard on Switch. Brooke mentioned Life Is Strange: True Colors as the most technically advanced game in the franchise and stressed that the team was proud to have converted the original experience to Switch.
Square Enix will be able to port Life Is Strange: True Colorsto Switch very quickly. However, those who want to play the game in its physical form will need to wait until February.
