New York City politicians are asking Whoopi Goldberg to say sorry for claiming that a local bakery refused to make her a batch of desserts because of her political views. Goldberg’s representatives have not responded to requests for comments. Goldberg, known for her liberal views, refused to mention President-elect Donald Trump’s name on “The View” recently. The controversy began when Goldberg shared a tray of Charlotte Russe cakes on her birthday and mentioned that the bakery had initially refused to make them for her, hinting it was because of her politics. Holtermann confirmed that her bakery was the one Goldberg referred to but clarified that the issue was with equipment, not politics. Goldberg later posted on Instagram reaffirming her claim but said she still enjoyed her birthday. The situation has sparked a debate about business and politics, with calls for an apology from Goldberg to resolve the issue.
