Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Unveiled, Featuring the Return of Max Caulfield
Today at the Xbox Games Showcase, Deck Nine introduced the latest installment in the Life Is Strange series, titled Life Is Strange: Double Exposure. Scheduled for release on October 29, the game brings back the beloved protagonist from the original Life Is Strange, Max Caulfield.
In the newly released trailer, viewers caught a glimpse of an older Max who still possesses her unique abilities. In this sequel, Max has lost the ability to rewind time but gained the power to navigate two parallel timelines simultaneously. These timelines feature her new friend Safi, who is murdered in one and in grave danger in the other. Max must utilize her newfound power to prevent both tragedies and merge the two timelines together.
Life Is Strange fans will be able to choose from standard, deluxe, and ultimate editions of Double Exposure, each offering various digital and physical bonuses. Those opting for the ultimate edition will receive early access to the first two chapters two weeks before the official release date. More details about the game are set to be revealed during a livestream on June 13 at 9am PT.
Earlier this year, Deck Nine came under scrutiny for their work culture during the development of Before the Storm, True Colors, and Double Exposure. Reports revealed that the company’s leadership had shielded abusive individuals, encouraged overworking, and failed to address internal advocates pushing for better representation in the Life Is Strange series. With several canceled partnerships and layoffs in recent years, Deck Nine’s future success appears to hinge on the reception of the Life Is Strange franchise.
