Matt LeBlanc famously said as Joey Tribbiani, “Joey doesn’t share food!” And during Latin Restaurant Week, you won’t want to share either. Aymara Lucero explains, “Latin Restaurant Weeks is a two-week celebration where we highlight Latin-owned businesses that are in the culinary space – so like food trucks, restaurants, pop-up kitchens – to really amplify their voices.” It’s a chance to support local Latinx entrepreneurs while indulging in some mouthwatering dishes.

One of the participants, The Side Chick, is rolling in with bold and juicy bites that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Erik Manning, from The Side Chick, shares, “Last year we participated, and it was an amazing experience. This year we chose to feature our Elote Fries, a loaded fry that is one of our fan favorites. It’s fried with our house-made crema, chopped-up chicken, corn, covered in cheese, cilantro, and tajin. We also have our Cheesy Chick, one of our top sellers here.” Not only is the food delicious, but it’s also halal, offering a unique dining experience for all.

La Pata Gorda, a sea cuisine restaurant from Ecuador, is showcasing its signature dishes at Latin Restaurant Weeks. Josue Sanchez, from La Pata Gorda, shares, “We have very signature dishes from the sea, and I know you will love them.” From Ecuadorian ceviches to crab and sweet plantain croquetas, the menu is packed with flavorful options. Don’t miss out on their special creation, the Chopsue, and finish off your meal with a baklava dessert with rose sauce.

Latin Restaurant Weeks not only offers a chance to treat yourself to delicious food but also to support Latinx culinary businesses in the community. Aymara Lucero emphasizes, “I think people should check out Latin Restaurant Week because in Miami, we have such a big Hispanic community, so it’s an opportunity for everyone to support local, while also having a great time and saving money with these deals.” It’s a win-win situation where you can enjoy fantastic food while contributing to the growth of Latin-owned businesses.
