There was a time when WhatsApp was an application used only to exchange text messages with our contacts. Little by little, the platform was implementing services to improve the user experience and offer more and more functionalities: sending photos and videos, sending voice messages, sharing files… And also uploading statuses.

WhatsApp statuses emulate the operation of the popular Instagram stories – also available although less used on Facebook – since all these apps belong to the Meta matrix. They are publications that last only 24 hours and in which you can share photographs, videos or messages with all those contacts who have saved your phone number.

Its uses are many, from sharing the celebration of an event in your business to which you want to attract an audience, to showing off your vacation destination, to reminding all your contacts that it is your birthday so that they don’t forget to congratulate you. Although publishing statuses from the WhatsApp mobile application is simple and intuitive, to do so from WhatsApp Web you have to follow a somewhat slower, but effective process.

The use of WhatsApp Web is more and more widespread due to how convenient it is to access your WhatsApp from your computer while you watch a series or work without having to use your mobile phone. But it’s also a perfect option for those who simply can’t use the mobile app, either because of a busy workday or because their phone doesn’t work as it should.

Although the web version of the application works in a very similar way to the mobile app, there are some details that it does not offer, such as the possibility of uploading statuses. Although this does not mean that you cannot do it, but that you will have to take a series of shortcuts to achieve it.

First of all, access Google Chrome from your computer. Go to the three dots in the upper right corner and select the “Extensions” tab. Next, click on “Visit Chrome Web Store”. Within this, you must look for the “WA Web Plus for WhatsApp” extension or the “WhatsApp Web Plus” extension.

Once the chosen extension has been downloaded, it is time to open WhatsApp Web. Please note that if you are not logged in normally on your computer, you will need your mobile phone to scan the authentication QR from the app.

Once you have accessed WhatsApp Web, select the icon of the Google Chrome extension and, in the list of functions, click on the one to publish stories. A screen will open where you can edit the status as you like, be it a text, a photo, a video, an emoji… Finally, you send the status to your profile and it’s already published so that all your contacts can see it.
