O’FALLON, Mo. — On the 83rd anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, communities nationwide came together to reflect on the event that forever altered the course of history. In O’Fallon, Missouri, a poignant memorial took place at the Mid America Veterans Museum to honor the 2,403 Americans who lost their lives on December 7, 1941.
A Moving Tribute
The solemn day began with a flagpole ceremony, setting the tone for a day of remembrance and reflection. Attendees, including World War II veterans, civilians, and military families, gathered to pay their respects. Inside the museum, a touching tribute unfolded as the names of all those who perished in the attack were read aloud. This emotional process took nearly four hours, highlighting the magnitude of the loss experienced on that fateful day.

Two World War II veterans who were stationed at Pearl Harbor following the attacks were present at the memorial, adding a deeply personal touch to the commemoration.
