Rockstar Games plans to present Grand Theft Auto VI this week. This is stated by Bloomberg through information from Jason Schreier, one of the most reputable journalists in the electronic entertainment industry. The American publisher’s intention would be to officially announce the game this week, but the trailer would not arrive until December, coinciding with the company’s 25th anniversary.

The economic media does not offer more details about the date on which this announcement could take place, only that it will be during this week. This is news that comes shortly after social media was filled with speculation about a possible announcement last October, which never came to pass.

In February 2022 Rockstar Games announced that it was already working on the new installment of this popular franchise, but since then there has been no official announcement. In September of that same year, a massive leak also took place through the illicit obtaining of alleged images of the game in development, a case that caused a stir due to the high expectations for the sequel to Grand Theft Auto V.

Jason Schreier himself announced in July 2022 that the game would have a woman as the protagonist for the first time. More specifically, a Latina woman, who would be part of a duo of characters in the style of the famous bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde. Likewise, the journalist detailed that the game would be set in the city of Miami. These are details that have not yet been confirmed by the company.

The first version of Grand Theft Auto V hit stores in 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Since then, the game has been released on more platforms (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series) and has sold more than 185 million units, a figure that has made it the second best-selling game of all time – only behind Minecraft – and a true popular culture phenomenon.
