Google's 'Magic Eraser' function reaches all Android phones

One of Google’s most anticipated features finally comes to other smartphones. The company has announced that its ‘Magic Eraser’ editing tool will be available for all other devices through a subscription to Google One, its new cloud storage plan.

The company boasted about the effectiveness of this feature in a Super Bowl ad, which showed millions of viewers the incredible results of the ‘Magic Eraser’. Now that users have shown greater interest in it, Google has decided to bring the function to other mobile phones.

Google has confirmed that the incredible ‘Magic Eraser’ will be available for free for all Google Pixels, while those Android or iOS users who want to try it must pay a subscription to Google One to enjoy this latest innovation through the application Photos. Initially, the feature was exclusive to the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 smartphones, but now it can be a part of any mobile device.

‘Magic Eraser’, as its name suggests, is a function that allows you to eliminate those people or objects that appear in the background of the images. It’s simple: you just have to choose the person you want to delete, and artificial intelligence will do the rest. Along with it, users who pay the subscription will be able to enjoy new collage layouts with the option to apply styles to each individual photo in the collage they want.

Likewise, it will be possible to access new filters through the trial period that will come into force in March. One of the most prominent is the HDR effect for videos, which tries to find the ideal balance between the lightest and darkest portions of the desired clip.

Finally, the subscription to One allows you to enjoy free shipping of photo prints, a facility that will be exclusively available for shipments in the US, Canada, the European Union and the United Kingdom.

If you have a pre-Tensor device, such as a Pixel 5a or Pixel 5, you can also access this feature completely free. The company has announced that it will take several weeks to reach the entire world, although we can access the tools in Photos from today.
