A tragic incident occurred in St. Charles, Missouri, on Tuesday, resulting in the loss of a man’s life due to a fatal wrong-way crash. The St. Charles Police Department reported that the collision took place around 11:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of First Capitol Drive near Pralle Lane.
According to investigators, the driver responsible for the crash was traveling northbound on First Capitol Drive when his vehicle veered across the roadway into the southbound lanes. The wrong-way driver then collided with two vehicles, one of which was a head-on impact.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash. The victim has been identified as a 37-year-old man from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, although his name has not been released to the public.
In regards to the occupants of the other two vehicles involved in the collision, one driver chose not to receive medical attention at the scene. However, the other driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
