Universal Orlando Resort has announced that their new theme park, Epic Universe, is set to open on May 22, 2025. This new park will be the largest of the three theme parks at the resort, located on a 750-acre development that will significantly increase Universal’s footprint in Orlando. Currently, the property consists of two theme parks and one water park.
Epic Universe will feature five lands: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and Celestial Park. Each land will offer a unique and immersive experience for visitors.
According to Dennis Speigel, founder and CEO of International Theme Park Services, the themes included in Epic Universe cater to a new generation of visitors who are looking for characters and stories they have grown up with. Speigel predicts that the new theme park will attract over 6 million visitors in its first year of operation, setting a new standard in the Orlando theme park market.
Tickets to Epic Universe will be sold in phases, with vacation packages and three-day tickets initially available for purchase. Current Universal Orlando annual passholders will have priority access to purchase single-day tickets before the general public. Additional ticket options, including single-day tickets for the general public, will be released closer to the park’s opening date.
In addition to the new theme park, a 500-room Loews hotel called Universal Helios Grand Hotel will open on May 22, offering guests a convenient and immersive stay within the park. Two other new hotels will also open in the vicinity before the park’s grand opening.
Guests entering Epic Universe will first step into Celestial Park, which will feature a variety of attractions, restaurants, and shops. The park’s other lands, such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic and Super Nintendo World, will offer exciting experiences based on popular franchises.
With the opening of Epic Universe, Universal Orlando Resort is set to provide visitors with an unforgettable vacation experience filled with thrills and excitement. The addition of this new theme park will undoubtedly elevate the Orlando theme park market and set a new standard for immersive entertainment experiences.
