In addition to targeting Black male voters, Harris’s campaign is also working on increasing support among other male voting blocs, including Hispanics. The campaign has launched initiatives like “Hombres con Harris” to engage with male voters and address their concerns.
Harris’s plan includes a promise to distribute 1 million loans of up to $20,000 to Black entrepreneurs, as well as federal incentives to encourage more African American men to pursue teaching careers. The campaign also aims to expand apprenticeship opportunities and address health issues like sickle cell disease, diabetes, and prostate cancer that affect Black men.
The vice president’s advisers have emphasized the importance of discussing cryptocurrency to appeal to male voters. Harris has pledged to support a regulatory framework to protect investors in cryptocurrency and other digital assets, which are popular among Black men.
A recent poll found that a majority of Black voters have a favorable view of Harris and prefer her leadership on major policy issues compared to former President Donald Trump. The campaign’s efforts to engage with Black men and other male voting blocs reflect a strategy to mobilize key demographics ahead of the election.
