Apple held its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) last week. They presented Apple’s Vision Pro augmented reality glasses, which left no one indifferent. Most of those who have tried them are enthusiastic, but not all. Mark Zuckerberg isn’t impressed, and Elon Musk isn’t.
Through a meme posted on his Twitter account, the owner of the social network compared this gadget to being under the effect of hallucinogenic mushrooms. Without text, the owner of Tesla only shared the image that showed the price of the Apple Vision Pro ($3,500) and that of the mushrooms that go in a plastic bag with a cardboard that states that ” you can try to contact UFOs and aliens†(20 dollars).
But this isn’t the only controversial tweet Musk has posted recently. Continuing to taunt Apple’s Vision Pro, the tech mogul wrote “augmented reality is amazing.”
The phrase was accompanied by a photomontage of a woman sitting in a cafeteria ready to have some waffles with strawberries and syrup for breakfast, wearing a tight yellow low-cut top. The girl’s face is covered by what the augmented reality glasses see: a tank being bombed.
They were not the only controversial tweets from Elon Musk over the weekend. The tech mogul has historically been accused of being a transphobe and a homophobe. Without going any further, one of his twins decided to change his sex and also his last name because he did not want to be related to his father because of his vision of people who change their sex. Speaking to the media, Musk’s trans daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, stated that “I no longer live with my biological father nor do I wish to be related to him in any way.”
With this context, another of the most recent publications made this weekend by the owner of Twitter on said social network gained strength. Using a meme, as is usual for him, Musk posted an image of a pregnant woman who asked her doctor if she was a boy or a girl. The doctor replied: “We will let the kindergarten teacher decideâ€. The tweet has been widely criticized, and many users have called it a mockery of the trans community.
