With the arrival of summer, our calendar is filling up with trips and getaways. From a brief weekend stay at the beach to a tourist expedition to a dream destination. Or maybe you are one of those who travel often throughout the year, either for leisure or for work. Whatever the circumstance, packing for a trip can be challenging.
Check the weather forecasts, select clothing sets, add toiletries… Not forgetting the “just in case” items that are not always necessary. In the end, the result is a suitcase full to the brim, with excess weight, uncomfortable to transport and with the risk of being charged extra if you travel by plane.
Fortunately, social networks are full of videos where different people teach their best luggage packing tricks and, sometimes, your mobile phone can be an ally to do it in the most effective way. This is the case of the video shared on TikTok by the user @rileejsmith, whose tutorial on how to use the smartphone notes application for this purpose has more than 12,600 likes.
This trick will win over people who love planning, organization and efficiency. To get started, create a note on your mobile with the title of your trip, specifying how many days and nights you will be away. Next, make a detailed list with the activities proposed for each day (beach, tourism, visiting museums, doing a wine tasting, work conference, shopping…).
The next thing that the author of this video recommends doing is to look for the weather forecast in the weather application on your mobile or directly on the internet, take a screenshot and paste it into the trip note. In this way, you keep in mind the weather it will be to take it into account when packing your suitcase.
Then it is time to plan the clothing sets divided by days. To do this, make a list with the days and activities planned for that day. Under each day, attach pictures of the clothes you’ve prepared. You can do it by putting on the complete outfit and taking a photo, or with the images of the silhouettes of each garment individually. @rileejsmith’s advice for not carrying too much baggage is to consider sets with clothes that match each other and repeat the clothes for more than one day.
Once this is done, create another section in the mobile note where you attach the images of all the clothes and accessories that you must take in the suitcase. Also, make a list with other essential items: underwear, sports equipment, personal hygiene items, electronic devices, chargers, a book, etc.
Finally, @rileejsmith hashtags the note in question to classify it based on its content. In this way, if you have another trip to a similar destination in the future, you can use it as a reference.
