MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Dolphins running back De’Von Achane announced on Friday that he has successfully cleared concussion protocol and is eager to make his return to the field this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

Achane suffered a concussion during the first quarter of Miami’s Week 5 game against the New England Patriots after a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jaylinn Hawkins. However, the young running back mentioned that he has been symptom-free since a few days after the incident and is feeling back to his normal self.

In his second season, Achane has been a key contributor to the Dolphins’ offense, rushing for 183 yards on 53 carries and scoring one rushing touchdown. He has also been utilized more in the passing game, recording 21 catches on 23 targets for 186 yards receiving.

With an impressive rookie season in 2023 where he averaged 7.8 yards per rush and gained 800 yards, Achane is excited to join a healthy running back group for the first time since Week 1. Alongside rookie Jaylen Wright and veteran Raheem Mostert, who missed three games due to a chest injury, the Dolphins’ running back room is looking strong.

Achane expressed confidence in the running back trio, highlighting that having all three of them back and healthy provides a challenging situation for opposing defenses. He emphasized that each of them is capable of making impactful plays and contributing to the team’s success.

As the Dolphins prepare to face the Colts, Achane’s return adds depth and versatility to their offensive arsenal. Fans can look forward to seeing him back in action and making plays on the field as Miami aims to secure another victory.
